Mark Carnes

Andrews, IN

I first met Patrick at Father Ryan High School in Nashville, where I was classmates with his brother Mike. I was shocked to hear of his sudden passing. In the early years after high school we had some great times together where he turned me on to classical guitar and I had the privilege of commissioning and performing one of his early compositions, "The Art of the Maze". I was also present at his wedding to Barbara. As I recently lost my wife of 39 years, I can appreciate what she must be going through now. May God's love remain with her, and may she and her children take comfort in having had so many years with such a good man.

Honolulu, HI

I met the Kavanaugh’s in 1998 while a student at the Eastman School of Music. I was brought in to fill out the trombone section and it was to my great delight that there was such a strong community of Christians in music. It breaks my heart for this sudden loss and I am praying for comfort for the family. Knowing how many people have been touched by the ministry and all that is yet to come gives comfort that God uses us for His purpose. And that gives hope to many. God bless you and comfort you knowing that the angels of the Lord and singing even more beautiful praises!

Ah, Patrick, How short we knew ye. But it was rich. Ye shared your joy of life and your talents wi' us so freely and fully. Aye, and we will miss you sorely. As ye go, be oh, so proud of the love and the heritage ye left us. May your family and friends take comfort in the blessings ye left with them.
