Adela Cortez, 76, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away peacefully in the early morning of August 3rd 2025, in the presence of her husband, daughter, and many of her loved ones.

Adela was born on February 3, 1949, to Viviana and John Martinez in Knox City, Texas. Adela was the fourth child of 10 children. Adela lived in Wichita Falls and married her husband, Joe Cortez in 1965. She had two children, a son, Joey Cortez, and a daughter, Angela Caram.

Adela graduated from Cosmetology school in the late 60's and was a prominent stylist for many years. She retired at the age of 71.

Adela was a very loving and passionate woman. She never met a stranger and welcomed everyone. She was a strong woman with a big heart. To know her was to love her.

She is preceding in death by her Mother, Vivian Martinez, her father, John Martinez, her son, Joey Cortez, her grandson, Nicholas Cortez, and her 4 brothers, Chuno, Joe, Jerry, and Jesse Martinez.

She is survived by her husband, Joe A. Cortez, her daughter, Angela Caram, her grandkids, Jessica Cortez, Cameron Nix, Jared Cortez, Joshua Caram, Brealena Hernandez, Jacob Solorio, and Madilynne Ayala, and 11 great grandkids.

Her visitation will be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Pkwy, Wichita Falls, Texas, on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 5 p.m. - 6 p.m. Her Memorial will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 1 p.m.
