Alan L. Williams, 70, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Memorial services will be at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22 ^nd in Lunn's Chapel with Rev. Jerry Royal officiating.  The family will receive friends at a visitation following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Jacque Joyce (Claypole) and Bobby James Williams, Alan was born on April 2, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Our dad spent his early years in San Antonio and Missouri before moving to Wichita Falls. Alan graduated from Rider High school in 1970 and went on to get his degree in Political Science at Midwestern State University.

Alan met the love of his life, Brenda in 1974 and married on March 13, 1976. Alan's true joys in life were his children, Matthew, Leesa, and Brian and his grandchildren, Clark, Hope, Heath, and Halle. Our Dad's little buddy was his Grandson Clark Daniel. They were two peas in a pod. Pop's lived for Clark and laughed at everything he did.

Alan worked at Dr. Pepper bottling company for 37 years before his retirement in 2014. He spent the summers with his family going to Port Aransas, Texas. He loved the coast, and he loved to travel. He went to Europe with our mom and his sister Debbie. He was passionate about music and played the guitar and wrote sheet music before the copier became common. He loved Irish music, culture, and food.

Alan spent his days of retirement tracing his lineage with the help of his mother Jacque and her research, listening to Irish radio, working his sudoku books and learning how to tweet.  He became a caretaker for his father and his mother in the last years of their life, with help from his siblings.  He loved his Irish Setter, Sugar that his wife Brenda gifted him, and his schnauzer Dutchie. Alan battled cancer the last 4 years of his life and traveled to MD Anderson for treatment and had the best team of doctors we could have asked for.

Along with his parents, Alan was also preceded in death by his baby brother, Michael James Williams.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Brenda Carol Harvick Williams; children, Matthew Daniel Williams and wife, Hollie and their son Clark Daniel Williams. Leesa Carol Williams Sanchez and husband, Steven Sanchez; and Heath Brian Harvick and children, Hope Elizabeth, Halle Claire and Heath Brian Harvick, Jr.; sister Debra Sue Williams; brother Bruce Lynn Williams and wife, Sherry; brother-in-law, George Ray Harvick and wife, Prissy; and mother-in-law, Marylou Rankin Harvick; along with numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends of his children who he helped raise and many friends near and far.
