Allen Dale Gossett, 73, of Wichita Falls, Texas, died unexpectedly at his home on July 12, 2023.

There will be a memorial service held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 11:00AM, Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home with Rev. Terri Whitgrove officiating.

Allen was born on December 7, 1949, in Frederick, Oklahoma, to Lorraine Coleman and Hubert Gossett. He attended Rider High School, he then joined the US Army with assignments in Cambodia, Germany and Switzerland. In 1970 he crossed paths with Michelle Rushia, which started the beginning of their 53 year relationship. They married on January 5, 1974. Together they have one daughter, Amy Cox of Wichita Falls. Allen reserved a big part of his heart for his only child, daughter Amy, who he loved immensely.

Allen was employed for the last 30 years at United Regional Healthcare System as the locksmith. Allen's background was in construction; he could build or repair most anything.

To name a few of his favorite pastimes: loved listening to good music, dancing with his wife, playing multiple sports, hunting and fishing. His favorite was playing golf, he tremendously enjoyed playing with his son-in-law, David Cox.

Allen was a man of few words. His main form of communication could've been just a look and it may have made you back up and reassess the situation.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents, Lorraine Coleman and Hubert Gossett.

Allen is survived by his wife, Michelle; daughter, Amy Cox and her husband David; grandsons; Connor Cox and Grant Cox (Oh how Papa took pride in his two grandsons), sister; Katie Splawn, brothers; Sonny Gossett, David Gossett (Patsy), Jerry Gossett (Kristen), numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Layla.
