Annetta Ann Rich Weyant, 83, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2024.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14th at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15th at Lunn's Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Holliday Cemetery in Holliday under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Annetta was born on November 27, 1940, in Wynnewood, Oklahoma to Olin and Vera Rich. She attended schools at Oklaunion, Harrold, Odell and Electra. She was of the Baptist faith.

Annetta was a veteran of the U.S. Womens Army Corps, received the American Spirit Award, was stationed at Ft. Knox, KY, with the rank of Specialist 5th Class. She was a bookkeeper and secretary and retired in 2000 from the Wichita Falls Police Department. Annetta enjoyed woodcarving, gardening, photography, wildlife and genealogy. She was an author and poet, having published several books. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, Major Frances Grice Chapter, Wichita Falls, Texas.

Annetta married Denny Weyant on July 30, 1969, upon his return from Viet Nam with the U.S. Army. The couple met while they were both stationed at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. They built their home in the country west of Wichita Falls, living there since 1974.

Annetta loved her family, God and country.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Denny Weyant; brother, Bob Rich; and sisters Aline Rodgers and most recently Debbie Craft.

She is survived by her daughter Denissa Pope and husband, Mark of Holliday; granddaughter Courtney Thompson of Wichita Falls; brothers, John B. Rich of Holliday and Ricky Rich of Jacksboro; brother-in-law, Paul Craft; great-granddaughters, Sami Ailey and Reyna Robison of Wichita Falls; great-grandson Micah Green of Double Oaks and future grand baby on the way. She is also survived and will be missed by a host of family and friends. Last but far from least, she leaves behind her constant companion ReRun who now resides with the Stevens.
