Audrey JoRene Whyrick Rutledge, 87, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 5 ^th at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 6 ^th at Lunn's Chapel with Rev. Kermit Tandberg officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Lula Mae (Shytles) and Charles Skelton, JoRene was born on November 24, 1935, in Harrold, Texas. She graduated from Midwestern State University in 1973 with a degree in nursing. JoRene worked for many years in surgery at Bethania Hospital until her retirement at age 65.

Along with her parents, JoRene was also preceded in death by her sisters, Lula Rae Smith and Martha Lee Estes; brothers, Leonard Donelle Skelton and Willam Eugene Skelton; husband Derryl Arlyn Whyrick, Sr. and son Derry Arlyn Whyrick, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, Charles "Chuck" Rutledge; children, Kristina Whyrick; Malesa Smyth (Jeff); Terrell Whyrick (Kathy) and Chad Whyrick; grandchildren, Tricia Smirl, Britt Whyrick, Lorisa Colwell, Layce McCurley, Chris Whyrick, Landon Mack, Lauren Hudson, Cole Whyrick, Nathan Smyth, Jarrett Whyrick and Brooke Whyrick; 18 great-grandchildren and other extended family members.
