Ben E. Shelton, Jr. 87, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19 ^th at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 20 ^th at First Baptist East Sanctuary with Dr. Bob McCartney and Rev. Rod Payne officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Mildred (McCuistion) and Ben E. Shelton, Sr., Ben was born on September 13, 1934, in El Dorado, Arkansas. Ben earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from Midwestern State University and worked for the City of Wichita Falls as Chief Accountant and Director of General Services.  He also was General Sales Manager for Hamilton-Bryan Stores and a salesman/building materials supplier for US Brick and Ken Hall Brick and Building Supplies.  He and Ethel Wanda Walker Shelton had one son, Michael Neil Shelton.  He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls where he sang in the church choir, was a choir soloist and served as a deacon.  He was also involved in church related trips traveling to Germany, Austria/Czech Republic, Greece and even the Holy Land in Israel. Ben was a very social person who enjoyed getting together with family and friends. He was a history buff, mainly WW2, and greatly enjoyed western movies.

Along with his parents, Ben was also preceded in death by his wife Ethel Wanda Walker Shelton, a brother John McCuistion Shelton, and a sister Mildred Ann Ward.

He is survived by his son, Michael Shelton and wife Yelena Shelton; grandchildren Benjamin and Victoria Shelton; and his siblings, Bennette Cipelle, Janis Neal and husband Wilson Neal; Bill Shelton and wife Ann Shelton; Martha Zumwalt and husband Jerry Zumwalt. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
