Betty Joyce Belue Cook, 92 of Wichita Falls, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2023.

Memorial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5th at First Baptist Church Worship Center with Dr. Bob McCartney, Rev. Randy Osborne and Rev. Rod Payne officiating, visitation to follow. Private burial will precede the service under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Lydia Gladys (Johnson) and Rufus Elton Belue, Betty was born on April 2, 1931, in Wichita Falls. She attended Crockett Elementary, Zundy Jr. High, where she met Hulen and Wichita Falls High School. Following her graduation from "Old High" Betty attended MSU.

Betty married Hulen Jefferson Cook, Jr. on November 24, 1951, in Wichita Falls. Together they raised three sons. Betty supported Hulen in his practice and ranching endeavors throughout their marriage. They spent 45 years together until Hulen's death on May 10, 1996.

Betty was raised in Lamar Baptist Church where she made her profession of faith at vacation Bible school at the age of nine. As a member of First Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school to four year olds and Training Union to six year olds. In later years, Betty was a Group Leader in Sunday school, a member of both the Sanctuary Choir and the Glory Choir, Women on Mission and her much loved Encore Choir.

Along with her parents and husband, Betty was also preceded in death by her brothers, Rufus Laverne Belue and Granville Ray Belue.

She is survived by her sons, Jeff Elton Cook and wife, Margot; Mark David Cook and wife, Lori; and Paul Alan Cook and wife, Teri; grandchildren, Kaylee Sears and husband, Corey; Forrest Cook and wife, Kendall; Louie Cook and wife, Nadia; Peter Cook, Reed Cook; and Zadie Curry and husband, Heath; great-grandchildren, Hulen Paige Sears, Cora Michelle Cook, Hulen James Curry, Jack William Cook and Eleanor Bea Sears; brother, Dr. Joe Bill Belue and wife, Jo Ann; and several nieces and nephews.
