Betty Jo Kidd (April 27, 1927 – April 18, 2025)

A kind-hearted woman who loved her family deeply, Betty Jo Kidd, 97, of Ringgold, GA, died peacefully at Brookdale Sikes Lake in Wichita Falls, TX on April 18th, 2025.

She was born in 1927 in the family home in Ringgold, GA to Clyde Arthur Cain and Frances (Fannie) Mae Cain. She attended Ringgold High School, where she played basketball and softball.  After high school, she travelled to Miami, FL to work with her sister Virginia, where she met and fell in love with Robert Lewis Kidd, who was stationed there with the US Navy.  They married the day the war ended, August 14, 1945.

Betty was a wonderful wife and doting mother to her four children. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed spoiling her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Betty loved to socialize with her friends and family, and enjoyed playing hand and foot, golfing, bowling, crocheting, quilting, and sewing.  She enjoyed making quilts, dresses, and clothes, often gifting them to her loved ones.

Betty was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her husband Robert Lewis Kidd, and her son Timothy Allen Kidd, and seven brothers and sisters.  She is survived by her brother Ronald (Brenda) Cain, three daughters Sherry (Jack) Helmcamp, Linda (Ronald) Bryant, and Cathy Prado, and her many grandchildren.

Betty will always be remembered for her inviting smile and joyful laugh.  We will miss her dearly but are grateful knowing she is at peace and at home with her Lord.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26th, at Lunn's Colonial Chapel with Rev. Al Easterling officiating. Graveside services to follow on a later date in Ringgold, Georgia.
