Betty G. Swanson passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2026. She was 94 years old.

Betty was born on October 22, 1931, in Electra to James Ruben Thomas and Gladys Bell Thomas. She grew up with strong family values that would become the very foundation of her life. She was a person of great devotion, generosity, and unconditional love.

On September 19, 1951, Betty married the love of her life, Tom S. Swanson. Together they built a beautiful life and were blessed with one son, Thomas "Tommy" Michael Swanson. They made their home in Electra until 1989, when they built a special home in Wichita Falls that became the heart of countless family gatherings and cherished memories.

Betty was the very picture of unconditional love. Her family was her greatest pride and deepest joy. She adored her grandchildren. Her granddaughters could truly do no wrong in her eyes. She loved her family fiercely and without reservation, always putting them first and making each one feel uniquely treasured.

Her home was immaculate, a reflection of the care and pride she took in everything she did. She delighted in traveling, taking her girls shopping, and collecting antiques. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially when they were shared with those she loved.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Tom Swanson; her son, Tommy Swanson; and her brothers, Harry and Donald Thomas.

She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Ami Swanson of Holliday; her granddaughters, Presley Johnson and husband Kyle of Wichita Falls, Payton Dowling and husband Jack of Maui, and Katie Leach and husband Jake of Wichita Falls; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Paige Johnson, Lilly Johnson, and Thomas Dowling. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Glenda Thomas.

A Visitation will be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 6 to 7 p.m., with a private graveside service the following day.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Hospice of Wichita Falls who cared so compassionately for Betty in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, a true blessing in our community.

Betty's legacy is one of love, grace, and unwavering devotion to family. She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her warmth in their hearts and strive to honor her example of kindness, strength, and unconditional love.
