Our beloved Papa, Dad, husband, brother, uncle and friend, Billy "Clay" Carver, went peacefully in his sleep after a year long battle with cancer to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 8, 2023.

The family will receive friends at a visitation on June 11, 2023, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on June 12, 2023, at First Baptist Church in Holliday, Texas, with Reverend Darryl Sewell officiating. Interment will follow at Holliday Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Clay was a very devoted working man, having worked for Finnell Oil Company from the ages of 16 to 34. He then went on to work for Stephens and Johnson Operating Company until May 8, 2023, when he went on sick leave. He always said he was going to work until the day he died!

Clay was a lover of music, Texas Longhorns, and the Holliday Eagles.  He attended the high school state basketball tournament annually since the age of 16. Clay was actively involved in both his son's and daughter's activities, coaching both kids in their sports. He then became their biggest fan, rarely ever missing a game. This loving support carried over to his grandchildren.

Clay is preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Bill Carver. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kathy; son, Bradley and wife Jordan Carver; daughter, Stacie and husband Jordan Ennis; brother, Kelly and wife Tina Carver; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Most importantly, Clay's pride and joys were his grandchildren, Jacky Clay Carver, Bailey Ann Carver, Saylor Isabel Ennis, and come September, Clayton Craig Ennis.
