Bobbie Vanette Curtis, 89, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26 ^th at Lunn's Chapel with Rev. Harvey McMurry officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Bobbie was welcomed by Ross and Gladys Hall on January 1, 1932. She was the first baby born of that year in Wichita Falls, Texas, where she lived her entire life. Bobbie met and married her true love for life, W.O. Curtis in 1951 and had a very happy and full life doing many activities with friends. They bowled, square danced, played cards and dominoes with close friends. They enjoyed going to casinos and made trips with friends to many different places. They were usually seen together wherever they went; they were best friends.

Bobbie started her career as a hairdresser in 1951, working for Sarah Petty on Beverly Drive and retired from Bill's Hairstyling in 1994. Bobbie made many friends throughout her life and was always happiest being with family and close friends. Bobbie loved her children and grandchildren and especially cherished Christmas when she could have them all together.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her husband, W.O. in 2018, after 67 years of marriage; her parents; and only brother, Raymond Hall; and son-in-law, Joe Szymanski, who was like her own son, also.

She leaves behind her two children, son, Jimmy Curtis and wife, Elaine of Sweetwater, TX; and daughter, Brenda K. Szymanski and fiancé, Robert Smith of Kaufman, TX; granddaughters, Jennifer Hamilton and husband, Chad of Aubrey, TX;  and Melanie Self of Wichita Falls, TX; grandsons, David Curtis of Iowa Park, TX; Justin Hunter and fiancé, Haley Richards and her son, Neil Richards of Cleburne, TX; and Landon King and wife, Stacie of Sweetwater, TX; great-grandchildren, Natalie Curtis, Skyler Curtis, Ryder Curtis, Caleb Fuller and fiancé, Natalee Gesino and her daughter, Stefaini Daughtery; Zachary Hamilton and Madison Self and fiancé, Royse Vaughn; and great-great-grandchild, Paisleigh Vaughn, daughter of Madison Self.
