Bonnie Ruth (West) Beck, 90, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 5th at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 6th at Faith Village Church of Christ with Charlie Thomason officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 p.m. at Gooseneck Cemetery near Graham, Texas, under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Ruth Estelle (West) and Abner Mead West, Bonnie was born on January 24, 1934, at Graham Hospital in Graham, Texas. Following her graduation from Graham High School she attended Draughon's Business School in Wichita Falls.

Bonnie married Bob Beck in Graham in 1951. Soon after their marriage, Bonnie and Bob moved to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, where Bob was stationed at Kincheloe AFB. Eventually, they made their way back to Wichita Falls, where they began and raised their two children, Douglas and Lisa.

Bonnie attended Midwestern State University then transferred to TWU in Denton, Texas, where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Record Administration and graduated, with honors, from TWU in Denton, Texas in 1977. She began her career in the medical field at the STTC Hospital SAFB, where she worked for thirty-two years. She began as a clerk typist and medical transcriptionist at the STTC Hospital, then became Assistant Director of Inpatient Records; Director, Inpatient Records; Director, Inpatient Administrative Services, retiring in 1991 as Director, Patient Administration.

During her civil service tenure, Bonnie served as a Medical Consultant for Medicenter and Texoma Christian Care Center and was a member of the Joint Services Medical Records Subcommittee at the Pentagon in Washington D.C.  During her tenure at SAFB, she was voted Outstanding Woman, Civil Service (GS) Employee at SAFB; Civilian of the Year at the STTC Hospital; and, Civilian of the Quarter at the STTC Hospital.  She was a member of the American Medical Record Association and Texas Medical Record Association; the Credentials Committee, Texas Medical Record Association; President, Student Association of Medical Record Administrators, TWU; Regional Director and Delegate, Texas Medical Record Association; President, Texoma Area Medical Record Association; Secretary, Texas Medical Record Association; and Chairperson, Scholarship Committee, Texoma Area Medical Record Association.

Bonnie was a life-long Christian whose faith in Jesus touched everything she did. She loved to sing; her favorite hymns were "It is Well With My Soul" and "Amazing Grace." She and Bob were members at Faith Village Church of Christ. They loved camping with their family and friends in New Mexico and Colorado, as well as their travels to Germany, Mexico and Hawaii.

Bonnie is survived by her sister, Sherria King; her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Dr. Norm Gonzales; and her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kathy Beck, all of Wichita Falls; grandson, Dustin and wife Chelsea Beck from Warda, TX and their three sons, Dylan, Weston and Hank; granddaughter, Alison and husband Billy Achieng of Nairobi, Kenya, and their son, Gabriel; nephew Steve King; and niece and husband, Kim and Phillip Townsend all of Wichita Falls.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Beck; and mother and father, Ruth West Corbell and "Smoky" West.

The family extends special thanks to the entire loving and compassionate staff during their mother's stay at The Arbor House, the staff at Royal Estates, and Hospice of Wichita Falls.
