Brenda Louise Wood, born on January 19, 1944, in Hominy, Oklahoma, to Katherine Drummond Buckner and Carl Kenneth Buckner, passed away in Houston, Texas on July 15, 2024.

Coming from a long-time ranching family in Osage County, Oklahoma, Brenda spent her early years in Hominy before moving to Tulsa at the age of 16. She completed high school at Edison High School in Tulsa and pursued further education at Oklahoma University, William Woods College for Girls in Fulton, Missouri, Tulsa Business College, and Oklahoma State University.

In January 1970, Brenda founded Western Supplies, Inc. and dedicated herself to the company until retiring in 2022. Her hard work and commitment in the pipeline business earned her many lifelong friendships and recognition as an Honorary Member of the Pipe Line Contractors Association in 2015. Brenda also served as a former member of the Wichita County Junior Livestock board, a Girl Scout leader, and actively contributed to numerous community activities.

Brenda's true passion lay with her family. She cherished creating memories with her daughters and grandchildren on various trips, including visits to Washington DC, New York City, Boston, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, MLB spring training in Florida, Las Vegas, California, numerous trips to Disney World and many more. She participated in most of her grandchildren's events and attended every one of their birthday celebrations.  Her great-grandson, Fulton, brought immense joy and light into her life.

Brenda is survived by her daughters Beth Ann Sweet of Wichita Falls, Texas and Kristi Lynn Neal of Houston, Texas; grandchildren Cameron Fulton Neal and his wife Morgan, Preston Walker Neal, Kate Parker Neal and Madison Lynn Sweet; great-grandson Fulton Randolph Neal; son-in-law Todd Neal.  She is also survived by her brother Carl Kenneth Buckner and his wife Ardis and sister-in-law Mary Buckner.

She is preceded in death by her son, John Fulton Wood, her parents Katherine Drummond Buckner and Carl Kenneth Buckner, her brothers Robert Neil Buckner and Phillip Harrison Buckner, and son-in-law James Sweet.

A celebration of Brenda's life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Wichita Falls on July 25, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jonathan Drummond officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
