Carmen Amador Ayala, 80, Wichita Falls, Texas, peacefully departed this world, surrounded by her family and friends on Friday, November 24, 2023. Memorial services will be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 10:00 am with Deacon Anastacio Perez officiating.

Carmen was the daughter of the late Mike Tovar and Reyes (Rios) Amador and was born on October 13, 1943, in Wichita Falls, Texas. After graduating from Wichita Falls High School in 1962, she began working as a seamstress at Levi Strauss and Company.

In 1973, Carmen met the love of her life, Edward G. Ayala, in Wichita Falls, Texas. On July 26, 1979, Carmen and Edward married, started a family, and raised their six children.

After 37 dedicated years at Levi Strauss, Carmen retired and attended Vernon College and earned her associate degree in accounting. Carmen spent her retirement enjoying time with her parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren.

Her favorite pastimes included reading, watching soap operas, crossword puzzles, watching movies with her grandchildren, and celebrating the holidays. The Christmas season held a special place in her heart, standing as her most cherished time of the year. She took immense pleasure decorating her home and driving around admiring the Christmas embellishments of the neighborhood. Throughout Carmen's life she loved listening to music and took every opportunity to dance. She collected elephants and loved red tacos and queso from Casa Manana.

Along with her parents, Carmen was preceded in death by her sisters, Isabel Morales, Yolanda Amador, and Antonia Amador. She is survived by husband of 44 years; her children, Armando Amador and wife Kristal of Frisco, Texas; E. Brian Ayala of Wichita Falls, Texas; Sherry Ayala of Wylie, Texas; Gilbert Ayala and wife Lety of Chula Vista, California; Alma Ayala and husband Robert Jeans of San Jose, California; and Jessica Ayala of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Avery, Kayden and Reese Amador; Teresa Ayala and Sabrina Chapa; Adrian, Laryssa, and Daniel Ayala; Nathan, Darian, and Melik Jeans; great grandchildren, Jayden, Kai and Willow; siblings, Mike Amador Jr., Dolores Ortiz, Robert Amador, Richard Amador, Andrew Amador, Victoria Innis, Danny Amador, Rita Howard, Aurora Glover, Gilbert Amador, Ruby Rodriguez, Patricia Pompey, Ophelia Perez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
