Carolyn Allison, 93, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, in Wichita Falls.

Visitation will be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls on Friday, August 16, from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.  A private graveside ceremony will be held at the family plot at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Denton, Texas, on August 9.

The daughter of Grover C. Vaughn and Lillian Gertrude Vaughn, Mrs. Allison was born on March 24th, 1931, in Bryan, Texas.  She was a graduate of El Reno High School in El Reno, Oklahoma, and Texas Woman's University in Denton, Texas, where she received a B.A. in Upper Elementary Education, and later completed some graduate work at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas.

She married Howard Allison on August 3, 1957, in Denton, Texas, at the Little Chapel-in-the-Woods on the campus of Texas Woman's University.

Mrs. Allison was a teacher in the Wichita Falls Independent School District for thirty-one years at Cunningham Elementary, Reagan Jr. High, and Zundelowitz ("Zundy") Junior High, retiring from Zundy in 1994.

Mrs. Allison was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church, the Win-Some Sunday School Class and served on the Young Energetic Seniors Committee and the Grief Hospitality Committee. She was also involved in the church after-school tutoring program.  She was an active volunteer in the United Regional Health Care Services Auxiliary for 24 years and served as President from 2010-2011.  She was also a member of the Wichita Falls Area Association of Retired School Personnel and the Wichita County Republican Women.

Survivors include a son, Brian Allison and his wife, Jill of Austin, and a daughter, Lynn Allison Bollish and her husband, Dr. Michael Bollish of Dallas; three grandchildren, Collins Allison of Denver, Colorado, Kirstin Allison Warren of Dallas, and Brandon Bollish of Dallas; and a sister, Nelda Shipley of Arlington, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband Howard of 63 years as well as her parents and two nephews, Richard Shipley and Stuart Shipley, both of Arlington, Texas.
