Catherine Elysabethe "Betsy" Fonville Harper passed away peacefully in Wichita Falls May 14, 2024.  She was preceded in death by husband Charles F. Harper.  Betsy was born in Pampa, Texas, and graduated from Lubbock High School, Midwestern State University, and Texas Women's University with a Master's in Education.  She taught Special Education in Wichita Falls Public schools for over 25 years, retiring from Hirschi High School.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and served as a board member for several non-profit organizations including AIDS Circle of Hope.

Betsy's indomitable spirit and endless enthusiasm will be missed by friends, family, and former students and colleagues. She is survived by sons Marty (Sara) of Taos, New Mexico; Mark (Teresa) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; grandchildren Sean, Hayley, Holly, Thomas, Holden, and Chelsea; and 4 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday May 24th at First United Methodist Church.  Internment will follow at Riverside Cemetery Wichita Falls under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

The family would like to express appreciation to the staff of Brookdale Sikes Center, as well as Beyond Faith Hospice for their care of Betsy in her final months.
