Cathryn Fay Melton, 75, of Pleasant Valley, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18th at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19th at Lunn's chapel. Interment will follow at Byers Riverside Cemetery in Byers, Texas, under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Fay (Rasberry) and Charles Melton, Cathryn was born on May 9, 1950, in Stephenville, Texas. She touched countless lives with her warmth and kindness.

Cathryn was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of Grace Church. She is now reunited in heaven with her beloved parents, Fay and Charles Melton and her daughter, Shawnda Hamon; and her lifelong friend, Phyllis Cunningham, whom she lovingly cared for until her passing.

Cathryn dedicated more than 20 years to serving others as a compassionate nurse at United Regional Health Care System. She shared a special companionship with her beloved cat, Spicy Mayo, who was rarely far from her side. Those who knew Cathryn will always remember her heart of gold, her gentle spirit and the way she made everyone feel welcome at her home. Her legacy of kindness and Christian love will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.

Cathryn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Desha Heffley of Pleasant Valley. She was a loving 'Granny' to Justin, Jina, Ben Heffley and Alex Casey all of Wichita Falls; Andrew and Jacob Haile of Pleasant Valley; Summer Hamon of Oklahoma; and Clayton Johnson of South Carolina. She was also blessed with several great-grandchildren, Avery Heffley of Wichita Falls, Oakley Ramey of Oklahoma and Kyler and Briggs Johnson of South Carolina.
