Cathy Gamble passed away in Wichita Falls on Saturday, December 5, 2020.

Cathy Jo Thompson was born on March 22, 1949, to Jimmie Hobbs and William A. Thompson in Wichita Falls, Texas. She graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1967 and married Gorman Stevens Gamble on June 5, 1971. She worked at the North Texas State Hospital until she became a mother in 1976.

Cathy and Gorman established their business Derby Press, Inc. in 1986. She and Gorman built a family business from the ground-up. Hard-work, integrity and attention to details were the hallmark of their daily lives at Derby. They took pride in their work and celebrated the special moments of their customers' weddings, births and social events.

Cathy contributed countless hours of time and her immeasurable talents to several community organizations including The Junior League of Wichita Falls, Senior Junior Forum and The Cancer League of Wichita Falls. She displayed the greatest qualities of dependability, loyalty and grace as the chairman of Christmas Magic, Falls Fest and a long list of community events that enriched the lives of so many. She never missed the opportunity to chaperone a Junior Forum dance, serve on a PTA or organize a party for "Amy and the girls".

Cathy proudly answered to nothing but "YaYa" after the birth of her precious Gain-O in 2005 and Gigi-girl in 2007. She treasured every little moment of their lives and relished in making them feel loved. She was also  "YaYa" to an extended family of children lucky enough to know her love.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents Jimmie and Elmer Pitts and Tommy and Ann Thompson.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years this June, Gorman Gamble; daughter, Amy Alecia and husband Chandler of Wichita Falls, TX; two grandchildren, Gaines Osborne Harvey and Grayson Gamble Harvey; her brother Johnny Thompson and wife Bobbie of Perrin, TX; her brother James Thompson of Denver, CO; Father-in Law Ray Newton of Danville, VA; several nieces and nephews and an abundance of family and friends.

A Celebration of Cathy's beautiful life will be held at a later date this spring.
