Charlotte (Moore) Johnston was born May 24,1940, in Houston, Texas, to Jesse and Katherine Moore. She died March 11, 2024, at Hospice of Wichita Falls, surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Don Johnston, her parents, Jesse and Katherine, sister, Kathleen, twin sister, Carolyn, and several dear friends.

She is survived her daughters, Donna Rene Johnston, Carol Gibbs and husband Greg; her grandchildren, James Daniel Whisenhunt, Todd Whisenhunt and wife Meghan, Emily Whisenhunt, Shelby Fiscus and husband Chad; and her great grandchildren- Jaxen, Madison, Olivia, Aubree, Charlee, Mason, Cooper and Greyson, and several nieces and nephews.

She was active in band and softball in high school, and a leader in the Houstonettes drill team.  She had many friends, and loved spending time with her numerous cousins.  She was a bit of a tomboy, loved to climb trees, and once, when a boy asked her if he could give her a ride home on his bike, she gave him a punch and ended up giving HIM a ride home on her bike!

She and Don were married in 1959, and moved to Germany. They both decided that this would be their one opportunity in life to travel, and they went EVERYWHERE- Paris, Italy, visited castles in Germany, and took a memorable trip to the Passion Play in Oberammagau in 1960.

Throughout their life, they were avid travelers, and enjoyed playing bridge with many friends.

She was a lifelong educator, with a love for special education.  As a principal, she was supportive of her teachers and staff, and treated her students with dignity, kindness and fairness. And clowns.  Lots and lots of clowns.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13,  6pm – 7pm, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls, Texas.  Services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, March 14, at First Baptist Church, East Sanctuary, 1200 9th Street, Wichita Falls, Texas.  Burial will be held at Fort Sill National Cemetery, 2648 NE Jake Dunn Road, Elgin, Oklahoma.
