Christopher "Chris" Charles Wells, 38, formerly of Wichita Falls, passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, in Little Elm, Texas.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 15 ^th at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16 ^th at Lunn's Chapel with Pastor Chad Stubblefield officiating. Entombment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park Garden Mausoleum under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Chris was born on June 26, 1983, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Kathryn Lynne (Perry) and Charles Randall Wells. He grew up in Arlington and Grand Prairie, Texas before moving to Wichita Falls in 1996. He later moved to the Dallas area in 2003.

Chris was a 2001 graduate of S.H. Rider High School and attended Vernon College and Collin College. He developed a love of baseball at an early age, and played on little league, select, and high school teams. Chris was a member of the Under-12 Texas Giants Select baseball team that won the Hap Dumont Little League World Series. He was a pitcher on many of the teams and had the uncanny knack of getting hit by the baseball coming off the bat. Hence, he garnered the nickname "Target."

Chris had several passions: Chicago Cubs baseball, Texas A&M football, and cooking. As a youngster, he would come home after school and WGN (with Harry Caray announcing) would be playing the Cubs games --- Chris got hooked. When his mom married Andrew Walker – who attended Texas A&M, Chris was brainwashed all things Aggies! While in high school, he started working for Margie's Sweet Shop – that started his interest in cooking. Chris also worked at the Hamilton Kitchen and received training as a chef. He furthered those cooking skills by attending Collin College in their Culinary Arts Program. A self-proclaimed "foodie," Chris was always trying new recipes and sharing them with Kori and friends.

Chris had a clever sense of humor that all who knew him enjoyed. He loved to travel to new and different places with Kori, his longtime partner.  His sense of adventure often involved unique and unusual events and places. Or sometimes just for the two of them to get away from the race and enjoy the omnipresence of nature together.

Chris worked for many years at Bank of America and LandSafe Real Estate Services, in their Flood Management Division. He attained the professional designation of "Certified Floodplain Manager" or CFM.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother Kathryn. He is survived by his long-time partner Kori Byrd, sister Samantha Orer (Nate), former stepfather Erol Orer, stepfather Andrew Walker (Donna), uncles Dan (Alice) and Michael Perry, niece and nephew Emma and Brooks, cousins, and other extended family.
