Cindy Kay Kafer, 70, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Thursday, November 24, 2022

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 30 ^th at Lunn's. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Adeline (Gfeller) and Morris Edward Cope, Cindy was born on July 11, 1952, in Wichita Falls. She was a 1970 graduate of Wichita Falls High School. Cindy and Sonny Kafer were married on December 29, 1972. Together they raised two sons, Clint and Colby.

The boys remember their fun-loving mother as a strong disciplinarian. She was active in PTA during their school years at Ben Franklin and Barwise, which made it difficult for them to get away with their mischief without her finding out. Cindy loved Christmas trees and ornaments, often leaving her tree up long past the first of the year. She adored her granddaughter Hailey and enjoyed playing dress-up and beauty shop with her when she was younger. Cindy loved watching her grandson Grayson's sporting events, sitting on the last steps of the bleachers, and was looking forward to attending his games.

Cindy worked along with her sister Cheryl many years at The Last Straw and Encore the Christmas Store where she helped with shipping and receiving and anything else that needed to be done. She loved shopping online for jewelry and was "a wonderful sister".

Along with her parents, Cindy was also preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Kafer.

She is survived by her sons, Clint Kafer and wife, Kim; and Colby Kafer and wife, Allison; sisters, Cheryl Beer and husband, John; and Elaine Vaughan; brother, Eddy Cope and wife, Denise; grandchildren, Hailey Kafer and husband Brad Weidner; Grayson Kafer; Adan Aleman, Cristian Aleman and Lauren Aleman; nieces, Carri Beer, Kelly Vaughan and Kendel Cope; nephews, Doug Beer, Brad Vaughan, Kyle Vaughan and Tyler Kafer; and several great-nieces and nephews.
