Clarence Earl Barnett passed away peacefully at home, January 19, 2022. He was 94 years old.

Mr. Barnett was born in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, May 7, 1927, to W.D. (Slim) and Maggie Ellen Tennison Barnett. One of his first jobs was working with his father in the spur shop of the Nocona Boot Company. He later became a talented leather craftsman, hand tooling award-winning notebooks, cowboy belts, and other items.

Mr. Barnett was a Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Bogata, Texas, and a Mason for more than 55 years. He was also a member of Jean's Bible Class in Nocona and a member of Faith Baptist Church, Wichita Falls for 27 years.   In 1989, Mr. Barnett retired from Texas New Mexico Power Company after 34 years of service. He had previously worked for OGE in Oklahoma City and Texas Electric in Wichita Falls.

A proud veteran, Mr. Barnett was recruited into the Navy during World War II while still in high school. He was recently honored with a diploma through the Operation Recognition program, fulfilling a long-time desire to be part of the Nocona High School Class of 1945.  Mr. Barnett enjoyed golfing, fishing, camping, studying Western heritage, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joan Barnett of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Leilani Barnett of Dallas and her family–Gary Bates, Chelsea Bates, and his beloved great-grandchildren, Isabella Marie and Kennedy Medina; sister-in-law, Judy King of Wichita Falls; brother- and sister-in-law, Brady and Shirley Black of Hewitt, Texas; nephews Larry and Donnie Barnett, Jordan King, and Josh Black and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Wade Barnett; two sisters, Bonnie Healey and Marie Cattin Hurd; nephews Jim Barnett, Ronnie Bentley, and Mike Cattin; niece Delores Barnett Fox; his father- and mother-in-law, Troy and Veda Black; and brothers-in-law, Carl Cattin, Wayne King, Charles Hurd, and Tom Healey.

Immediately preceding services, the family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, January 21, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. The funeral will be officiated by Reverend Craig Lile at 2 p.m. in Lunn's chapel with interment in the Petrolia Cemetery following.
