Corey Matthew Sheets, 43, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

Memorial services with military honors will be at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 21 ^st at Lunn's Chapel. The family will receive friends at a visitation following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Corey was born on April 16, 1979, to Mary Ellen (Sibley) Sheets and Keith Stephen Sheets. He was born and raised in Louisiana where he spent the majority of his life. He was a 1997 graduate of East Ascension High School in Gonzales, Louisiana. He served his country proudly in the United States Army and also served in the National Guard. He enjoyed spending time with family simply to hang out, laugh or enjoy a nice crawfish boil.

Corey later relocated to Texas, married and built a new life with his wife and extended family. Corey enjoyed playing sports at a young age and was a devoted Tulane and New Orleans Saints football fan during his later years! He developed a new hobby for collecting coins, loved antiques, and enjoyed taking walks in parks with his family or simply just relaxing at home.

Corey was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sibley Sheets; his maternal grandparents, Robert and Inez Sibley; and paternal grandparents, Nolan and Ruth Sheets.

He is survived by his wife Misty J. Sheets; son, Wesley Matthew Sheets; stepsons, Layton Kyle Campbell, Brannon Wren Castillo and Tanner Blake Bell; granddaughter, Araleigh Luna Kay Bell; father, Keith Stephen Sheets; siblings, Brad Sheets and wife, Charoni Sheets; Erica Dunaway and husband, Anthony Dunaway; nephews, Presley Sheets (Godchild), Collin Dunaway; nieces Sami Sheets, Adriene Phelps, Samantha Dunaway (Godchild), Cassidy Dunaway, Peyton Dunaway (Godchild) and Laynee Gomez.
