Dale Clark Cantrell, 89, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Friday, June 27, 2025.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1st at Lunn's. Interment with military honors will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2nd at Fort Sill National Cemetery in Elgin, Oklahoma. Memorial services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at Edgemere Church of Christ with Scott Franks officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Allie (Wagoner) and Jeff Cantrell, Dale was born on October 21, 1935, in Lufkin, Texas. He moved to Wichita Falls in 1942 and graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1954. He then attended Texas A&M with an opportunity scholarship. He graduated with degrees in geology and civil engineering and was elected to Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Society.

He served as 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army as an instructor in staff and faculty battery at U.S. Army Artillery and Missile School at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

During the summer of 1964, Dale was baptized into Christ. Later on that year, on December 26th Dale married Linda Pittman. They were long-time members of Edgemere Church of Christ.

In 1993, after 32 years of service as a District Design Engineer and Director of Planning and Project Development, Dale retired from TexDot. During his time there, he served as President of TexDot Wichita Falls District Credit Union and was on the board of District TexDot Public Employees Association. He also served as treasurer for the Old Downtown Lions Club.

Dale is survived by his wife of nearly 61 years, Linda Cantrell and extended family members.
