Danny Ray Richardson was born in Mount Pleasant, Texas, on November 9, 1939, to Harold and Louise Buckalew Richardson. He passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 22nd at Lunn's.  Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23rd at Crestview Memorial Park with Randy Osborn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Danny attended Mount Pleasant High School where he was a star quarterback and awarded Mr. Mount Pleasant for his accomplishments on and off the field. He graduated from Baylor University in just 3 1/2 years with a Bachelor of Business degree. He served as a federal bank examiner for 10 years prior to being named as a vice-president for Parker Square Bank in 1973. After years in banking, Mr. Richardson purchased Red Carpet Travel where he enjoyed working in the travel industry. During his last season of actively working, he assisted in the family-owned business, Pioneer Restaurants, where he served as the warehouse manager.

Danny was a member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant and upon moving to Wichita Falls in the early 70s, he attended First Baptist Church. In his final months he enjoyed attending the blended service.

Danny was preceded in death by his wife, Duania Lynn Richardson; his parents, Harold and Louise Richardson; his brother and sister-in-law, Niles and Barbara Richardson; and his nephew, David Richardson.

He leaves behind his four children, son Danny and wife Roberta (Shawver); Dr. Stephanie Phillips and husband Mark; Dee Sellers and husband Phil; Wynne Richardson and companion Brett Partain; 8 grandchildren, Arden Graves (Brian); Katie Green (Kellen); Dr. Hunter Sellers (Dr. Georgia); Scott Phillips; Gates Richardson (Taryn); Harrison Sellers (Kathryn); Hailey Sellers and Dylan Richardson, along with 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Dr. and Mrs. Larry Rains along with two nieces, Rene Moody and Dr. Lauren Rains.

The family would like to thank all the staff and volunteers with Healing Hands that so graciously cared for our father in these past few months.
