Darla Louise Rodgers Woodruff, 63, of Wichita Falls passed away peacefully on Monday, November 15, 2021.

A Celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 19, 2021 at the County Chapel Church with Pastor Gary Tippit officiating. The Graveside service will follow at Rosemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 6-7 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, TX.

Darla was born on August 7, 1958 to James and Thelma Rodgers in Concord, California. She was raised in Estancia, New Mexico graduating from Estancia High Scholl in 1976. She then moved to Friona, Texas where she met the love of her life Leonard Woodruff. Leonard and Darla married on May 26, 1979 in Hereford, Texas. They quickly started a family. Rocky came first, followed by Jamie Beth. Leonard obtained a very good job opportunity in Wichita Falls in 1985 and moved the family there where they had their baby boy Chancey "Jacob." She was a very loving stay at home mother for many years. Darla and Leonard became members of First Assembly of God church where they were very involved and developed life long friendships still maintained today. After the children got a little older she started work at Vetrotex Certainteed before opening her own business, A Stitch in Time. Sewing was her passion. She always said she got to do what she loved every day. She sold sewing machines, fabrics, and sewing supplies. She also professionally monogrammed, did alterations, quilted, and her very favorite thin teaching private sewing lessons and having classes for special projects. Her classroom was usually completely full and sometimes had a waiting list. She loved her customers very much and truly enjoyed her work until she retired in 2014.

Darla was loved by so many and will be dearly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents James and Thelma Rodgers and her niece Cheryl Louise Rodgers.

She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Leonard Woodruff. Three children Rocky Woodruff and his daughter, Darla's only granddaughter, Darbelyn of Wichita Falls; Jamie Beth Reeves and husband John of Shreveport, Louisisana; Chancey "Jacob" Woodruff of Wichita Falls; Brother Chancey Rodgers of Estancia, New Mexico; Sister Elaine Webster of Hereford, Texas. Numerous brothers and sisters-in law, nieces, and nephews who she loved very much.
