Darrel Walker, 83, of Wichita Falls, Texas, entered his heavenly home on July 19, 2024.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 5:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 21st at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22nd at First Baptist Church in Wichita Falls. Interment will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 23rd at Evergreen Cemetery in Paris, Texas, under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

He was born in Deer Creek, TX June 10, 1941 to Grady Lee and IV (Thornton) Walker. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age. Darrel went on to play football for and graduated from Howard Payne University. Prior to being a State Farm agent, Darrel taught and coached in the public school system as well as serving as a vocational director.

He began his State Farm career as an agent September 1, 1977. Darrel placed customer needs first and led a service-oriented office until his death. He would like to thank his devoted staff for their dedication in the final years: Courtney Forsythe, Carol Lynn Miller, and Karen Brady as well as many others who supported him throughout his time as an agent.  He was goal oriented and received many accolades including President's Club, Crystal Excellence and Ambassador Club.

Darrel was a devoted Christian who cherished his Bible and the teachings of Jesus Christ. His number one goal in life was to share Jesus Christ and ask others to accept Him as their Savior. He had an outgoing personality that allowed him to quickly make friends with strangers before warmly sharing the love of Jesus Christ with them.

Darrel is survived by his spouse, Carol Walker of the home, his daughters Sharla Walker of Rockwall, TX, Kristen Walker, of Plano, TX, and Shana Barger Rodriguez (Mark) of Point, TX. Grandchildren include Shaeli Chandler, Baylee Roderick, Ryleigh Barger, Ryan Barger, Jacee Barger, and Matthew Rodriguez and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Loy Walker (Virginia) of Georgetown, TX, and Lanny Walker (Brenda) of Wichita Falls, TX.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Doyce Walker.
