Darren Lee Dailey, age 57, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Hospice of Wichita Falls.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 6th at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Parkway, Wichita Falls.

A graveside funeral service honoring Darren’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 7th at Crestview Memorial Park, 1917 Archer City Highway, Wichita Falls, Texas, under the direction of Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home.

Darren was born on June 19, 1969, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Clarence and Karen Dailey. He grew up in Wichita Falls and graduated from Henrietta High School in 1987. He later graduated from Midwestern State University with a business degree before beginning what would become a lifelong career in the electrical trade.

Darren became a Master Electrician and worked alongside his parents in the family business, Dailey Electric. In time, he took over running the business, proudly carrying forward the work, reputation and legacy his family had built in Wichita Falls.

A devoted hockey fan, Darren was a loyal supporter of his beloved Dallas Stars. He especially enjoyed traveling to Dallas to watch the Stars play in person whenever he could. When he could not make it to the rink, he was just as happy settling in at home in his Stars fan gear and cheering them on from the television.

Darren developed a love of motorcycles in childhood that stayed with him throughout his life. Among his fondest memories were family trips to Arkansas, where his parents would take him and his brother to meet up with his aunt, uncle and cousins for motorcycle riding through the rugged trails and winding hills of the Ozarks. Those trips created cherished memories and a love for riding that Darren never lost.

Darren also inherited his parents’ appreciation for old cars. In recent years, he had been working to restore his 1993 Chevrolet short bed pickup form his younger years, and he loved the thought of bringing that truck back to its original glory.

Of all his hobbies, Darren’s passion for collecting firearms may have captured his attention most. He had extensive knowledge of firearms of all kinds, from handguns and hunting rifles to shotguns, and he took genuine interest in the details that made each one unique. Darren did not simply collect firearms; he immersed himself in learning about their history, mechanics and the subtle differences between makes and models. He could spend hours talking with fellow enthusiasts, sharing what he knew and learning something new along the way.

Darren also had a special place in his heart for his four dogs, who brought him companionship and affection. They were an important part of his everyday world and a source of comfort and joy to him.

Darren had a dry sense of humor that was uniquely his own. No matter what you were talking about—whether motorcycles, cars, hockey, firearms or just everyday life—you could usually count on Darren to work in a perfectly timed comment that would catch you off guard and make you laugh. His humor was often understated and delivered with a straight face, which somehow made it even funnier. Those who knew him will remember not only the things Darren loved, but also the unexpected moments of laughter than he brought to conversations.

Darren’s memory will live on in the stories, laughter and love shared by all who were fortunate enough to know him.

Darren was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Myrtle Stout and Gertrude Lewis; sister-in-law Margo Dailey; aunt Marietta Hatchell; uncle Charles Helmer; and cousins Marc Helmer and Keith Helmer.

He is survived by his parents, Clarence and Karen Dailey of Henrietta; his children Cameron Dailey and Caydenn Dailey of Wichita Falls; his brother Chris Dailey; his niece Sophia Dailey both of College Station; and other extended family members and friends who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made in Darren’s honor to the Humane Society of Wichita County.
