David W. Mowrey, 58, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021, from complications of dementia.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 1 ^st at First Baptist Church with Dr. Bob McCartney officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Patsy (Roberts) and Stanley Mowrey, David was born on December 3, 1962, in Wichita Falls. He graduated from Rider High School in 1981 and Midwestern State University with a degree in Petroleum Geology in 1986. After graduating from MSU, David worked in the oil business with his father and brother, where he was later joined by his sons.

David loved many things. He loved coaching his children in basketball and baseball. He loved ALL things baseball-Texas Rangers, Rider and Old High. Throughout the years, he loved coaching and mentoring hundreds of kids. He also loved the oil business. Not only did he love his wife; he adored her. He loved weekends at Possum Kingdom Lake with his family.  He loved fly fishing and golfing with his friends and sons. He loved family vacations at the beach. He loved Fox News and CNBC. Those who knew David loved him as an extraordinarily generous, loving, kind and humble man.

Along with his parents, David was also preceded in death by uncles, Weldon Roberts and Kenneth Roberts

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Barbara Mowrey; his children, Craig Rachel and his wife Bonnie (Bolin) and their children, Fisher and Raylan; Karlee Mowrey and Benton Mowrey; brother, Danny and his wife Mary Mowrey, and their children, Sara Walker, John Mowrey, Michael Mowrey and Elizabeth Custer.
