David "Dave" Styles passed away peacefully on November 29, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Grace Church on Monday, December 4th, at 2 pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Dave was born on April 7th, 1949 in Seymour, TX to Myrtie Bell and Roy Styles. The family eventually moved to Wichita Falls where Dave graduated from Rider High School in 1967.

After some time, Dave met Jane Crawford. They married in 1972 and had a long happy marriage. Dave had many earthy blessings, but he would tell you that Jane was his greatest. It was evident to anyone who knew them that their love was deep and rare. Their strong relationship was an example to many, especially their children and grandchildren.

Dave began working in the oilfield at a young age. Dave's sharp intellect and experience in the oilfield led him to become an oil and gas completion consultant. He worked as a consultant for many years, and he loved his work. Dave made many lifelong friendships while working in the oil patch.

Dave and Jane had many hobbies, but they really loved playing golf together. They played often and enjoyed traveling to beautiful courses. Spending time with his family was one of Dave's greatest joys. He loved taking care of people and made family time special. When Dave married Jane, he inherited her seven other siblings! He particularly enjoyed being at the lake with his extended family and could often be found behind the wheel of a pontoon boat.

Dave loved Grace Church and believed strongly in giving back to his community. He was also a loyal supporter of Young Life, Hospice, and Focus on the Family.

Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jane; his two children, Ami Swanson of Holliday; and Foy Whitaker and Deborah of Kamay. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Presley Johnson and husband Kyle of Wichita Falls; Payton Dowling and husband Jack of Maui; Austin Whitaker and wife Kayla of Iowa Park; Katie Jane Leach and husband Jake of Wichita Falls; Madison Villalobos and husband Jesse of Wichita Falls; his sister, Betty Huffines and Husband Travis; and Niece, Belinda Smith of Wichita Falls. Additionally, he is survived by six great-grandchildren and a beloved extended family.

Dave is preceded in death by his parents; and his son-in-law, Tommy Swanson.

Memorials for Dave Styles may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, Young Life Wichita Falls, or your favorite charity. Jane Styles and her entire family would like to thank the staff at Hospice for their attentive care and support.
