Deborah "Debbie" Kay (Mills) Middleton, 70, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at her home in Wichita Falls, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.

A private entombment will occur at noon on Wednesday, November 8, at Haven of Memories Memorial Park Mausoleum in Canton, Texas. Memorial services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 11, at First Presbyterian Church, Wichita Falls, with Senior Pastor Rev. Michael Hansen and Associate Pastor Rev. Michael Morris officiating.The family will receive friends at a reception in the fellowship hall following the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Wilma Aderis (Edmonson) and William Samuel Mills, Jr., Debbie was born on November 6, 1952, in Grand Saline, Texas.

In 1973, Debbie graduated from Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, with a degree in business. She subsequently worked as a legal secretary for the law firm of Wynne & Wynne in Wills Points, Texas. Debbie married Wesley Lloyd Middleton on October 17, 1976, in Canton.

She accompanied Wesley throughout his Air Force career as a wife, mother, homemaker and volunteer as they made their home in Arkansas, Texas, Montana and California throughout the years.

In Montana, Debbie served in the Malmstrom Officer's Wives Club as the general editor of their monthly newsletter, Windy Weather News. She was also active in First Presbyterian Church in Great Falls, where she was ordained as a deacon.

In California, Debbie likewise served in the Officer's Wives Club as she championed Wesley's career and catered to the community.

In Texas, Debbie continued her service to the Presbyterian Church where she served as a deacon, this time at First Presbyterian Church in Wichita Falls. She taught Sunday school, as did her father before her, and she was also integral in providing meals and more to Faith Mission and Faith Refuge, both in Wichita Falls, while also continuing to support ministerial outreach through the church.

Debbie was a fundamental member of the "Kitchen People" at First Presbyterian Church in Wichita Falls, an affectionate term given to those who were continually providing meals and comfort to those in need. She had a servant's heart and always looked to help others.

Debbie was a voracious lifetime reader, an excellent cook, and an expert cross-stitcher.She made all feel welcome with her comforting and engaging personality, and knew just what to say to make everyone feel at ease. Debbie wanted people to know and to hear from her, "Love your family; love your children." Along with her parents, Debbie was also preceded in death by her sister, Sheryl Denise(Mills) Shuttlesworth.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Wesley Lloyd Middleton; son, Wesley Samuel Middleton and husband, Christopher Ryan Hankins, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter, Dr. Mattilda Kay Middleton, Lexington, Kentucky; sister, Beverly Ann (Mills) Lowry, Grand Saline, Texas; nieces, Kimberly Shuttlesworth, Lewisville, Texas, and Libby (Lowry) Merrick, husband David, and son Scotty, Canton; nephews, Keith Shuttlesworth, Carthage, Texas, and Christopher Lowry and wife, Wisconsin; brother-in-law, Steve Shuttlesworth, Lewisville; aunts, Ann Edmonson, Chapel Hill, Texas, and Minnie (Edmonson) Kernohan, Grand Prairie, Texas; uncle, Byron Edmonson, Sunnyvale, Texas; and numerous loving cousins located all over Texas.
