Dewey Horton passed away on November 2, 2022 at the age of 95. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, November 8, 2022 at Floral Heights United Methodist Church, 2214 Tenth Street, Wichita Falls, TX with Rev. Paul Goodrich officiating. Burial following the service will be in Rosemont Cemetery. Visitation will be at 11:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall at the church before the service.

Dewey was born on December 8, 1926 in Woodson, TX to Harry and Odessa (Willingham) Horton. He graduated from Wichita Falls High School and Midwestern University. He was married to his loving wife Mary Leona Kilpatrick for 71 years, and had successful careers in banking, oil and gas, and hospital administration.

Dewey and Mary loved spending their summers in Colorado in their motor home along with many friends including "The Ole Joes". He was a member of Floral Heights United Methodist Church where he served as treasurer for many years. He was also active in the North Texas Food Pantry, and was a Master Mason for over 50 years.

He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughter Terri Shrode and her husband Danny of Austin, and son Ray Horton of Wichita Falls. He is also survived by his brother, Charles Horton of Fairhope, AL, grandchildren Carly Toca and husband Brent of Harahan, LA, Michael Shrode of Dallas, Emily Horton of Wichita Falls, great granddaughter June Toca, and nephew Jeffery Horton of Fairhope AL.

Honorary pallbearers will be "The Ole Joes": Joe Chandler, Larry Donart, Waylon Brown, Jim Arnold and Russ Russell who have gone ahead to find the best camping and fishing spots in heaven.
