After gracefully facing an extended period of illness, Dixie Rodgers took the first steps in her heavenly body on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

Dixie was born on July 27, 1938, to John and Georgia Stahlheber. She attended school and enjoyed her early life in East St. Louis, Illinois.

As the years passed, Dixie dreamed of living in Florida, and in 1979 moved to Panama City. It was here she met her next-door neighbor, David. During the next three years they dated, even with David's extended military tour to Iceland.

David Rodgers and Dixie were married on October 8, 1983, in Panama City. As a couple, they moved around multiple times with military assignments until they moved to Wichita Falls in 2001. As David retired from the military, they remained here for twenty-two years. Dixie was a faithful member of First Baptist Church where they attended the ChangePoint LIFE Group each Sunday and then the worship service. Dixie was a greeter as she met each member upon arrival. She was also a Group Leader. Dixie never arrived without that beautiful, welcoming smile.

Dixie is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Richard Stahlheber and James Stahlheber. She is survived by her husband, David, her sisters, Patsy Kastner and Jeannie Bryant, brother Charlie Stahlheber, her daughter, Sue Minner (Mark), her sons Ron (Esther) Doran and Mike (Terry) Doran, as well as multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dixie was always a proud Mother and Grandmother.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 27 from Noon to 2:00                      at Lunn's Funeral Home with the funeral service celebrating Dixie's life following at 2:00. Interment will be held on Tuesday, January 31 at 1:15 in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Patsy's House, Hospice of Wichita Falls, or the Student Ministry of First Baptist Church.
