Dorcas A. Chasteen, 78 of Wichita Falls, passed away on Friday, June 28, 2024.  Dorcas is the daughter of the late Barbara (Meade) and Bill Gouchie, and born October 17, 1945, in Wichita Falls. She and Jack Chasteen were married November 23, 1963, in Wichita Falls.  Dorcas was a proud graduate of Wichita Falls High School and remained lifelong friends with her beloved Coyote classmates. She worked for the City of Wichita Falls for over 35 years serving as Property Administrator and multiple roles in the Parks and Recreation Department. She owned and operated Dorcas & Company collectibles for 11 years, and realtor at Century 21 Gold Coat for 20 years.

Dorcas served as member and board member for the University Kiwanis Club, Wichita Falls Federal Credit Union, United Regional Hospital Auxiliary, Hospice, Interfaith Outreach Services of Wichita Falls, and City of Wichita Falls Park Board. She was awarded Kiwanian of the Year in 1991.

Dorcas is survived by her son (Eric Chasteen), daughter in-law (Kara Chasteen), grand-daughter and husband (Jaye and Quentin Bellows), grandson (Clay Chasteen), great-grandson (Stanton Bellows), great-grand-daughter (Austin Bellows), and sisters in-law (Lesley Chasteen, Sally Chasteen, Mary Hunter, and Lou Martin), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 2, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home, 2812 Midwestern Pkwy, Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 3, at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church, 3701 Taft Blvd, Wichita Falls. Dr. Mark Bender and Pastor Byron Francois officiating. A reception will be held at the church following the service. Interment will be at Crestview Memorial Park, 1:00 p.m. under direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
