Dorothy (Cantwell) Watts, 85, of Wichita Falls, Texas, went to be with The Lord Saturday, December 21, 2024, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother.

Dorothy's Celebration of Life will be 2:00 pm Friday, January 3, 2025, at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home Chapel. Family will receive friends and family from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

A daughter of the late Leona Maye (Teague) and J Norman Cantwell, Dorothy was born March 25, 1939, in Graham, Texas.

From earning Salutatorian status at Graham High School, to completing Draughn's Business School and then continuing her education by attending North Texas State University, Dorothy always excelled in all her endeavors.

Her career began while still a student at North Texas State University where she was the secretary for the head of the architecture department. Dorothy went on to be an Executive Secretary for Conoco Oil Company. She also worked as the Executive Secretary to B.B. Robinson, geophysicist. She was a member of Desk and Derrick, a professional organization involved in the oil business.

A woman of faith, she studied her Bible extensively and enjoyed learning new information that strengthened an already awesome walk with God. Dorothy was the backbone of her family, teaching them about Jesus and making sure each member was ready, when the time came, to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

Throughout her life, Dorothy's interests painted a picture of a woman with diverse talents and a zest for life. An accomplished pianist, she found joy in the keys and the music she created. As an oil painting artist, she transferred the beauty of the world onto canvas, sharing her vision with those around her. Her love for puzzles extended beyond the canvas to the crossword puzzles she skillfully completed, a testament to her sharp wit and intelligence.

A friend to everyone she met, she enjoyed many life-long friendships including her bunco group, square dancing club, Bible study groups, fellow USAF wives, and neighbors.

Along with her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her son, Leo Kyle Watts, her husband, Leo V. Watts, her older sister, Patsy Cantwell, and daughter-in-law, Misty Watts.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Kayla Marie Watts, son Kevin Lee Watts, granddaughter Megan L. Watts-Cahayla and husband Ben, grandson Kody L. Watts and wife Yea, and great-granddaughter Maylee. Dorothy is also survived by countless relatives in both Kentucky and Texas.

Dorothy's life was a tapestry of love, service, and artistry. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her light will continue to shine brightly in the memories shared and the lives she touched. As we bid farewell to Dorothy, we celebrate the extraordinary life of a woman who was, in every sense, the heart of her family and a friend to all.
