Duke Frisbie, 86 of Wichita Falls, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Rosemont Cemetery with Chaplain Starkovich Forster officiating. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Lunn's. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Duke was born on August 20, 1935, in Carey, Texas, to Basil Duke and Maudie Irene Frisbie. He graduated from Memphis High School in 1954. He earned his bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University where he played football and ran track for the Red Raiders. He joined the marines and proudly served from 1958-62. After serving as a marine, he taught and coached for several years before co-founding Frisbie Food Company.

In 1975 he married Peggy Hemmeline at Edgemere Church of Christ in Wichita Falls. He soon returned to teaching and coaching until his retirement in 1995. He and Peggy then moved to Athens and were actively involved in their church for years. Duke spent his retirement years studying his Bible, writing poetry and short stories, tinkering in his shop, and drinking coffee with his church buddies. He served his church and Lord by volunteering at the church food pantry and jail ministry.

He was preceded in death by his wife.

He is survived by his son Roddy Murray and wife Nancy; son Scott Murray; son Curt Frisbie and wife Stacy; daughter Sydne Rainwater and husband Mark; daughter Robyn Rich and husband Rance; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will be forever grateful to Hospice of Wichita Falls and ask that memorials be made to them.
