Elizabeth A. Lane, 96, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

A Rosary will be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 6 at 6:00 pm with visitation to follow.

The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, May 7 at 2:00pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with burial to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Born on May 5, 1929, in Archer County, Texas, Elizabeth was one of nine children of Elizabeth (Anderle) and Andrew Frerich. She married James Lane on February 6, 1950, and together they had three children: Deloris, Louis, and Leo.

Elizabeth was 3 pounds at birth, so she did not receive a birth certificate as the physician did not believe she would live. From 3 pounds to 3 days short of her 97th birthday our mother lived an extraordinary life, humble in all her thoughts and manners.

Elizabeth was known as a radiant and joyful woman. She generously gave her time, touched many lives positively, and found comfort in her faith, sharing openly with others without fear.

She loved cooking with vegetables from her garden for family and friends, enjoyed fishing in the stock tank, and was a very enthusiastic squirrel hunter.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband James and son Louis.

She is survived by daughter Deloris, her son Leo and his wife Sherri, grandchildren Clayton Lane and wife Holly, McKensey Conaway, and Taylor Jurado and husband Gary. She also leaves behind great-grandchildren: Aiden, Amelia, James, Elliott, and Stella.
