Whether you called her Ellen, Elan, Mom, or Oma, Ellen Griffin Symank Osborn left an indelible mark on everyone's life.  From her birth in Seminole, Oklahoma, on October 9, 1949, to William (Bill) and Juanita Grimsley Griffin, to her death on December 21, 2020, in Fort Worth, Texas, she was the essence of life—fun, caring, kindness, and love.

After graduating from Hirschi High School in 1968, Ellen moved to Arlington Texas, where she worked in Dentistry for over 40 years in various positions, until her retirement from University of Texas Southwestern in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  She returned to Wichita Falls where she worked part time at Chick-Fil-A, which was a highlight of her last years. She loved the company and all her "kids" where they called her Miss Ellen.

Ellen is survived by her son, Jeremey Lynn Symank and wife, Lisa Anderson Symank of Frisco, TX; Jeremey's dad James Symank of Arlington, TX; her sisters, Glenda Faulkner, Jerrie Sowards and husband Jim; and Denise Holcomb all of Wichita Falls.  Her extended children and grandchildren who called her Oma are Robert Faulkner and wife Kristi and children Ryan, Ethan and Cannon; Lisa Faulkner O'Campo and husband J D and daughter Grace; Wendy Sowards Whitsitt and husband Tyler and daughter Willow; Brian Holcomb and Bill Parks and son Ian Holcomb; and Justin Holcomb and wife Ashlee and children Caden and Addilee; Lindsay Holcomb Meeks and husband Chad and children Evie and Everett.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Juanita Griffin; her niece Melody Sowards and son Grayson James; and her brother-in-law Eddie Holcomb.

A private family wake will be held later.  Donations can be made to the ASPCA, the Humane Society or P.E.T.S.
