Foy M. Braswell, Jr. passed away on January 28, 2021 in Wichita Falls. Services will be held at a future date.

Foy was born on Feb. 19, 1931 in Kingsport, TN to Foy Sr. and Hazle Berdin Frey.  In 1949 Foy was accepted to and attended Virginia Military Institute in Lexington, VA, from which he graduated in 1953 with a BS in Chemistry and a commission as an Army Artillery Second Lieutenant.  Foy also attended Purdue graduate school, entered active duty in 1954 and reported to Fort Sill, OK.  During his 20+ years of service, Foy served at several US, Europe, Asia, other Allied installations/areas of conflict, including Korea and Vietnam, the latter for which he was awarded numerous medals including 2 Bronze Stars.  His last military assignment was as advisor to the 2d Battalion, 131st Artillery (TX National Guard) in Wichita Falls, TX.

Foy married Trudy Napier on September 26, 1978 in Wichita Falls. His subsequent transition from military life included a 3-year career as a light aircraft flight instructor & commercial pilot, followed by a 15-year career in the fiber glass industry as product development chemist, then product development manager.  What Foy ("Bras") may not have realized in his transition back to civilian life was the impact he would have on those with whom he chose to begin/resume his civilian & domestic life in the US. Bras was a dedicated husband, father and consummate provider to his new family.

Bras is survived by his wife of 41 years, Trudy; sister Geraldine Walters; three children; eight grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
