My mother, Frances Elizabeth Allen Evans, 96, of Wichita Falls, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Charlie Cemetery, in Charlie, Texas with Murl Nelms officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

The daughter of the late Ira Allen and Elsie Shipp Allen, Mama was born on March 5, 1927, in Seagraves, Texas.

Frances Allen married Raymond Leonard Evans in October, 1947. She first made his acquaintance when she was fifteen. She told her mother she had met the man she was going to marry. Five years later, they married.

Mama graduated from Lubbock Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in 1947. She was passionate about her career as a Registered Nurse; and spent almost fifty years caring for others.

Mama loved being a farmer's wife. Although she and my dad did not always agree on the method; they managed to farm together for many years. She enjoyed being a part of the Byers and Charlie Communities and made many good friends. In 2010, she was honored as a Duchess in the Clay County Pioneer Reunion.

Her foremost passion was being a Christian. From childhood, she was a member of the Church of Christ and attended when she was physically able to do so. She was a member of the Petrolia and, later, the Charlie, Churches of Christ for many years. In more recent years, she attended the Faith Village Congregation in Wichita Falls, Texas.

My mother was preceded in death by her beloved husband, and my father, Raymond, June 22, 2008. Also passing before her were her parents; her brother Leon Allen and wife Joann; and her brother Joe Allen (World War II).

Fran is survived by her daughter, Anne Dohrer and husband Dennis, of Wichita Falls, Texas; grandson David Williams and wife, Tami of Wichita Falls; bonus grandson Josh Dohrer and wife Stephanie of Sellersburg, Indiana; great grandson, Dalton Williams of Anaheim, California; special niece, Joanna Jones; Four bonus great grandchildren, Charlie and wife Lindsay, Ashley, Brittany and Bradley Hill; and also was the proud great, great grandmother of Parker Williams.
