Frances Marie Hamburg Box, 97, our precious Mama, Grandma, and GMa, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

Frances was born on June 14, 1927, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, daughter of Charles and Minnie Hamburg. She attended schools in Westlake, Louisiana. After graduating, she married Claude Lee Box on April 19, 1946. They lived in Westlake, spending some time in Kentucky and Santa Fe until 1957, when they moved to Wichita Falls. She spent the rest of her life in Wichita Falls.

Frances was a volunteer for every activity her children attended. After her children were older, she attended Midwestern University, majoring in elementary education. She was a member of Lakeside City Baptist Church and Wichita Falls Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. Frances was an amazing cook. If you walked into her house, she always asked if you were hungry. She will always be remembered for hosting Thanksgiving and Christmas for all of her family.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, two brothers, and her grandson, Brett Box. She is survived by her sons, Claude Lee Box Jr (Barbara) and Thomas Andrew, Box, Sr (LeAnn) and daughter, Rosalind (Rusty) Box Maley (Randy). Grandchildren , Bryan Box (April), Brandi Box Self (Mark), Mark Box (Kayla) Kerri Box, Joe Cerney (Erin), Jeff Cerney (Lisa), James Ryan Maley, Andy Box (Jenny), Lisa Box Wagner (Philip), Jody Lang (Matt), Billy Ostermann, and 12 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 9th at Lunn's Chapel. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. The family will be at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
