After a brief stay at Hospice of Wichita Falls, Frances Rae Jenne passed away August 2, 2024.

A private family burial will be held on August 9th at Rosemont Cemetery prior to services. The Memorial Service will be held on August 9th at 11:00 a.m. at Lunn's Colonial Chapel with Reverend Liz Talbert officiating. The family welcomes friends to a visitation following the service.

Born on December 9, 1931, in Wilmore, Kentucky, she was the second of three daughters to Rev.Theodore Roosevelt Jenne and Helen Elizabeth Wallace Jenne. She attended Crockett Elementary, Zundelowitz Jr High, and Wichita Falls Sr. High School graduating as Salutatorian in 1948, and receiving the first 4-year Scholarship for Hardin College by the Wichita Falls Kiwanis Club.

Frances earned a bachelor's degree in music education from Hardin College, (now Midwestern State University), and a master's degree in music from Indiana University in Bloomington. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International..

She taught elementary music and other subjects in WFISD at San Jacinto, Sam Houston, Jefferson and Fowler Elementary Schools for a total of 38 years.

Remarkably, she started at 14 as the paid accompanist at her church, Grant Street Methodist Church, and continued to play organ and piano for the churches she attended for the next 78 years, playing until her death.

Frances is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Betty Freeman.

She is survived by a sister, Virginia Turner of Wichita Falls; nephews and nieces Gary (Jill) Norris of Houston, Texas, Gail Norris Cotts of Norman, Oklahoma, Elizabeth (Tom) Talbert, and Cynthia (Tom) Medley of Wichita Falls, Texas, David (Paula) Turner of New Boston, Texas, and Stephen (Lisa) Turner, of Dallas, Texas; and precious great and great- great nephews and nieces who brought her much joy! She was an inspiration to many, including her Mount Calvary/Falls Chapel United Methodist church family and numerous friends!

She loved serving at her church, teaching children, and making music. She will be remembered as a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend; a gifted music maker and educator who always had a song in her heart, as well as at her fingertips!

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests that you donate to the children's ministry or to a music program at a church of your choice.
