Franklin L. Shankle, Sr., passed away in Dallas, Texas, on September 1, 2023, at the age of 88.

He was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, to Leslie and Helen. He is survived by two sisters, Joanne Schwartz and Myrna Zona; 5 children, Franklin Shankle Jr., Cheryl Shankle Malonson, Richard Shankle, Michael Shankle, and Theresa Hill; 5 grandchildren, Brandi and Christopher Shankle, Jennifer Vetter, Nikita Kedroski, and Destiny Wantz; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A proud Air Force veteran, he served our country for 26 years. He was an all-around great man, loyal salesman and friend, who never met a stranger. Loved by many.

The viewing will be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home in Wichita Falls, Texas, on Thursday September 7, 2023, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. His funeral service will also be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home on Friday September 8, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. with the burial to follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
