Gary Leander Gregg went home to be with his Lord and Savior February 11, 2022.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 21 ^st at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 22 ^nd at Lunn's Chapel. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Gary was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.  He was born June 20, 1944, to Jack and Louise Gregg, and was a lifelong resident of Wichita Falls.  He attended Ben Franklin Elementary, Zundy Junior High, and Wichita Falls High School, where he graduated in 1962.  Gary also attended the University of Texas and graduated from Midwestern State University, where he was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa fraternity.  He then went on to be a teacher at both Wichita Falls and Rider high schools, and was also part owner of Gregg Automotive where he sold tires and performance car parts.

Gary enjoyed playing in his rock and roll band, The Mammals, with his lifelong friends, Larry Lebow, David Holcomb, Connor McCaslin, and Jim Easterling.  He also liked working on cars, and racing and showing his1962 red Corvette.  His hobbies included exercising at the Family YMCA and watching sports, attending the 1962 WFHS Coyote Reunion meetings, and eating out and visiting with friends.  He had been a member of the Maskat Shrine, Texas State Teachers Association, National Education Association, and Prestonwood Baptist Church.  He lived life to the fullest and truly enjoyed the simple things of life.  He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Along with his parents, Gary was also preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda Ciccarelli in 2012.

He is survived by his wife, Bessie Gregg; his daughter, Elizabeth Wooten and husband, Wayne; son-in-law, Ron Ciccarelli; his three grandchildren, who were the loves of his life, Z, Rocky, and Betty Wooten; his brother, Jack Gregg Jr.; niece, Lea Bennett; nephew, Jack Gregg III (Tres); and their families; as well as close friend, Shawn Weaver.
