Gayle H. Williams passed away after a brief illness in Wichita Falls on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the age of 100.

The daughter of the late Alda Mae (Powell) and Chester Parnell Hirschfelt, she was born on June 16, 1923, in Ballinger, Texas. Her given name was Alda Gayle, but she always went by Gayle. She was a graduate of Ballinger High School and attended business college in Houston. During WW II she returned to Ballinger and worked at Bruce Field where she met her future husband, Daniel E. Williams. They met when mutual friends arranged for Dan to pick her up for a picnic. They were married on December 17, 1943.

Gayle's one passion was always dancing. After retiring from the Tom Green County Clerk's Office and moving to Wichita Falls, she went to weekly dances at the Red Door Senior Center and danced her final dance at her 100th birthday party.

Along with her parents, Gayle was also preceded in death by her husband, Daniel E. Williams, her four younger brothers, Jack, Don, Bill, and Gene, and two half-sisters, Marcella and Francis.

She is survived by her daughters Linda (Randy) Camp and Becky (Kevin) Lacey, son Jeff (Connie) Williams, grandchildren Jennifer (Tracy) Martin, Emily (Jody) Graham, Jeremy (Erin) Camp, Marissa (Jeff) Snowden, Joshua (Jessica) Lacey, Adam (Katie) Lacey, Joseph Lacey, Kaylan (James) Brushwood and Kendra Williams, and great-grandchildren Amanda and Tyler Martin, Elise and Kiersten Arens, Ryan and Will Camp, Campbell and George Snowden, Lily and Beckett Lacey, and Luis and Elliott Brushwood.

Gayle will be interred with her husband at a private family graveside memorial at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville, Texas.
