Geraldine Joyce Thane Nicholson, 98, of Wichita Falls, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, at First Baptist Church East Sanctuary with Randy Osborn officiating. Interment will follow at 1:00 pm at Howard Cemetery at Paint Creek, in Haskell County, Texas. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at a Visitation from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 10th at Lunn's Funeral Home at 2812 Midwestern Parkway.

Geraldine was born on August 8, 1927, in Stamford, Texas, to parents, Henry Robert Julius Thane and Emma Bean Thane. She married Wayne Nicholson on April 27, 1946, in Houston, Texas. They were married two months shy of 72 years.

In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; and her brothers, Eldon Thane and Raymond Thane.

She leaves behind her sister, Dolores Thane Medford; her three children, Jerry Nicholson (Connie), Donna Nicholson and Johnny Nicholson (Karen); three grandchildren, Brandy Samaniego, Amber Hutchison (Brian) and Brandon Nicholson (Lindzi); seven great-grandchildren, Bryce Samaniego, Caden Hutchison, Connor Hutchison, Charlie Hutchison, James Nicholson, Alice Nicholson and Catherine "Cate" Nicholson.

Geraldine taught Special Education in Burkburnett and Harrold School Districts in the 1970's and 80's and retired in 1984. She served as a Sunday School Teacher at First Baptist Wichita Falls for many years.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the amazing staff at The Gables at Rolling Meadows for the genuine love and care shown to Geraldine in her final years. Doris, Dusty (Duchess), Tiffany, Amber, Dawn, Brittany and J'Lynn, God sees each and every one of you and how you love and care for your residents, you made Geraldine feel so loved and special, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Another special thanks goes to the Hospice of Wichita Falls Team for your excellent care and devotion these past two months.
