Rest in peace, dear Alo.

Gerardo "Alo" Contreras, 50, of Wichita Falls, passed away on June 12, 2024. He was born on February 28, 1974, in Juarez, Mexico, to Luis Roberto Contreras and Socorro Navarro Contreras. Alo was preceded in death by his father, Luis Roberto Contreras, and his brother, Gilbert Rafael Contreras.

Alo is survived by his loving wife, Brandy Contreras, his daughter Kycelynn, and his son Vanson. He is also survived by his mother, Socorro Contreras, as well as his brothers and sisters: Luis Contreras and his wife Irene, Olga Saldarriaga and her husband Ricardo, Ana Franco, Elizabeth Emery and her husband Chris, Connie Hamilton and her husband Kelvin, Rosa Wilson, Angie Wiley and her husband Chad, and Jorge Contreras and Maribeth and his many nieces and nephews who adored him.

In addition to his immediate family, Alo leaves behind a wide circle of extended family, friends, and clients who held him dear to their hearts. His warm and caring nature touched the lives of all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Alo graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1992. Alo's legacy will be remembered not only for his boxing achievements, success in the oil and gas industry, but also for his unwavering dedication to his family.

Traveling was one of Alo's greatest passions, particularly to Mexico and Colorado, where he created beautiful memories with his beloved wife. Exploring new places and immersing himself in different cultures brought him immense joy and fulfillment. Closer to home, Alo found solace in the simple pleasures of life, such as having breakfast at his mother's house on Saturdays. He treasured these moments and held them close to his heart.

Above all, Alo was a loving and devoted father to his beautiful daughter and son. His love for them knew no bounds, and he adored every moment spent with them. They were the light of his life, and their happiness meant everything to him. Alo's memory will forever be cherished by his wife, children, and all who were fortunate enough to have him in their lives.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the OneLife Community Church (807 Austin St, Wichita Falls, TX 76301). A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.
