Another light was dimmed in our family with the passing of Glen Veach on February 20, 2024.  He was born December 21, 1943, in Burkburnett, Texas, to Hugh and Mary Waters Veach.  Glen was especially proud of his Choctaw heritage and was knowledgeable about native American history.

On October 15, 1982, Glen married Linda Thompson Lee, the love of his life.  Together they created a beautiful love story based on faith in God and devotion to each other.

Glen began his football career in the seventh grade in Burkburnett, Texas.  It continued through high school and Southeastern University in Durant, Oklahoma where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree.  He later earned a Master's degree from M.S.U.

Teaching history and coaching football at Reagan Jr. High and McNiel Jr. High gave him wonderful memories, and seeing former students truly pleased him.  He taught at Barwise Jr. High before retiring.

Glen loved his family and friends and continually prayed that his children and grandchildren would have successful and blessed lives.

Many hours were spent at Whispers of Hope riding facility for individuals with physical or mental disabilities, serving as board president.  Volunteering with Linda at P.E.T.S. and spending one week each summer for ten years as a volunteer at SEEK, a camp for children with special needs, were also highlights of his life.

Glen was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Thompson, and stepchildren Darren Lee and Jamie Wright.

His survivors include his wife, Linda, daughters Mara Barger (David) and Erin Veach, and brother John Veach (Pam).  Grandchildren Abigail Wright, Justin Boutwell (Lyndsey), Natilee Steel (Tyler), Kennedy Williams (Danny), Karmen Torres, Ella Gabaldon (Oscar), Quinn Hogan, Ryleigh, Ryan and Jacee Barger, nine great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 25th at Floral Heights United Methodist Church with Dr. Brian Boswell officiating.
