Gloria Kohler Brooks passed from this life July 11, 2026, at 90 years of age.

She was born in 1936 in Ashland, Ohio. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1954, and Bowling Green State University in 1958 with a Bachelor of Education. She received a Master's Degree in Personnel Administration in 1972 from Central Michigan State University.

In 1957 Gloria married Phillip Brooks of Berea, Ohio and in October 1958 they began life in the United States Air Force. They served in Italy, England, Japan, Ohio, Nebraska, and Texas. Gloria taught school at all their assignments.

After retiring from the military, they made their home in Wichita Falls, Texas. Gloria continued her teaching career and retired in 1998 after 30 years of teaching. She continued as a substitute teacher until 2020.

Gloria was a life member of Ohio Retired Teachers, Texas Retired Teachers and Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, decorating, and reading. She was also "addicted" to diet coke and chocolate long johns.

Gloria is survived by three God children, one of which Phil and her later adopted, and several nieces, nephews and their families.
